The full database has other Cranmer's and Cramer's. I have tried to bring the family forward to about 1910. I do like see information on living people out on the internet so there may be more information on your family line. Much of the later generations comes from the published work of James B. Trousdale (1900-1990). The earliest generations come from a book by Jean Shropshire & Murray Thomas Harris "THE DESCENSANTS OF WILLIAM CRANMER OF ELIZABETHTOWN, NJ". Additional information has come from WEB sources.
If you are a Cranmer, we may be related. If you sent me your family information, we can try and determine the connection. So please drop me a e-mail.

Descendants of William CRANMER* 1 William CRANMER* b: of Southhold, Long Island, NY d: Bef 04 December 1689 Elizabethtown, Union Co, NJ Notes: William Cranmer, the progenitor of the Cranmer/Cramer families of the Jersey shore, first appears as one of the early settlers of Southhold, Long Island, NY. Before 1665 he married Carwithy, daughter of David and Grace Carwithy of Southhold. David Carwithy's will, written 30 August 1665 mentions his daughter Elizabeth Cranmer. William and his family have already moved to Elizabethtown, New Jersey, because William Cranmer is recorded as having taken an oath of allegiance and fidelity to the King of England on 19 February 1665, and was probably one of the original settlers. He gave his occupation as carpenter, and paid quitrents on 209 acres of land at Elizabethtown in 1670, the same year he was appointed town constable there. In 1677 William sold several Parcels of upland, together with his dwelling house and house lot, to John Toe and traveled to Lewes, Delaware, with Luke Watson, another of Elizabethtowne's founders. He died before 4 December 1689, when the administration of his estate was granted to his son Thomas Cranmer of Elizabethtowne. There are accounts of William Cranmer's relationshipto the famous Archbishop of Canterbury who was burned at the stake in England, but to data no evidence has come to light which would prove or disprove this connection. (JS&MT Harris) There is definitive evidence that the Americans Cranmers are not descendents of the Archbishop Thomas Cranmer. Research done at University of Virginia shows that that the Archbishop did not have a grandson to carry on this family line. Also in the book Genealogical Memoirs of the Extinct Family of Chester of Chicheley, Their Ancesters and Descendants by Robert Edmund Chester Waters. This book is in two volumes of 790 pages, and was published by Robson and Sons in London in 1878. The book states that Thomas has one son and two daughters; but the son died 14 nov 1598 leaving no children. As Waters says in his book, page 396, "He left no children, and therefor on his death the issue of Archbishop Cranmer became wholly extinct." In talking with Neil Dow Cranmer of Elmira, he recalls a conversation he had with his uncle, Barnard A Cranmer of Monroeton, PA, who was born in 1838 and lived to be 104 years of age. Barnard stated that he was descended from Edmund Cranmer, The Arch-deacon of Canterbury and brother of the Archbishop. (Trousdale,JB) Move to Elizabethtowne, NJ bef. 1665. Edmund & Marter Thomas had a sister Agnes who married Edmund Cartwright of Ossington, County Nottingham, Eng. He bought land at "Barnagate" on May 9, 1702. John and Sarah later owned land and settled at Whippany. The text "Along the Whippanong". by Myrose and Kitchell describes John's property with a map and description. In his will, June 22, 1716, he left his sons Thomas and John each 4 pounds and his lawful wife the rest of his estate to bring up the children. He located on lands east of those of his son John and owned the property where the village stands and up as far as Mason's mills. After his wife died he went to live with his son Samuel. He joined the "Church of Christ in Wysox" on 17 Jun 1792 and signed a church document 15 Nov 1809. Noadiah was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. (Trousdale) Noadiah Cranmer was a Teamster in Capt Munson's Teamster Brigade stationed at Morristown 23 Oct 1778. (Harris) Samuel, John and Noadiah settled via what would appear to be Connecticut Susquehanna Company titles or no title at all. In 1782 the court in Trenton NJ ruled that Connecticut and The Susquehanna Company did not hold title to the what now is Northern PA. Note, however, that when heading west Connecticut did hold title in what will become northern Ohio. The 1782 court ruling did little to resolve the issue. Both Connecticut and Pennesylvania continued to issue title to the same lands. For about 50 years starting about 1760 clashes between the Connecticut Yankee "Intruders" and the Pennamite "Outsiders" occured. Both (with some major exceptions) groups wanted the moral high ground. Both groups felt that eventully they would win in the courts. It was not until March 28 1808 that the work of the commision to resolve all issues had been completed. (Trousdale,BW) Samuel, John and father Noadiah communicated via Trench Coxe (secretary of the land office) and then to Joseph Van Sick that they and 34 others of there neighbors were "to show you their utmost respect, and their readiness to comply and submit to the laws of this state; and that they hold their lands only by possition, and are very willing, to buy it of the Pennsylvania landholders. Their wish and prayer is, you Sir, would use your powerfull influence with the Pennsylvania Landholders, that they would make known unto those Settlers their prices and terns; and have some reflection on their low fortunes......" Upon his return to Rome from war a grand reception was tendered him. The Hon Dave Wilmot, Hon Victor E Piollet, Hon E R Myer and other prominent men of Bradford County were present on that occasion. In 1846 he went to California and was of William Walker's Nicaraguan filibustering expedition which left California in 1855. Note:( William Walker was a soldier of fortune, he became a Nicaraguan revolutionary leader and gained the Presidency of that country. He sought control of the entire Central American area but never succeeded and was eventually executed.) John Morris CRANMER returned to San Francisco and in 1863 went to Montana and was one of those arrived in the Bannack excitement in that year. Note: (The ghost town of Bannack, the site of Montana's first major gold discovery in 1862, became Montana's first territorial capital in 1864. The main street is lined with historic log and frame structures that recall Montana's formative years.) He went to Phillipsburg soon after and was in almost every placer mine excitement in the history of Montana. In fact there is hardly a camp of any prominence whatever in the west but what he visited. The mannor of his death was that he fell off the seat of a high wagon to the ground, and it is supposed that his neck was dislocated in the falling on his head as he soon died. The accident occurred on Monday, October 6 1890, and was caused by the sudden shying of one of the horses which his companion was driving. " To seek a home in the rich and unsettled country of the West." This was before the day of roads and he was required to follow the foot paths across the mountains, reaching the country by way of Wilkes-Barre. Drifting into what is now Monroe, he found a family by the name of Plandor on the Blackman place. Their little log house with its puncheon floor stood within the present limits of Monroe Borough, on the right bank of the creek, but what now would now be the left bank, the stream having changed its course here. proceeding up the creek, Mr. Cranmer examined the broad and fruitful flats between Masontown and Monroe village, and concluded to settle thereon. Accordingly, he returned to Plandor's, Made arrangements for his board, And at once began clearing away thorn trees and other timbers that grew along the creek. His first clearing was about 1/4 mile below Salisbury Mills. But Mr. Cranmer put his fallow of some two or three acres out to corn, when provisions with the Plandors becoming scarce, He returned to New Jersey. Soon after arriving in the new country, Mr. Cranmer met with an accident that caused him much pain and privation. Every morning in going to his work, he was required to cross the creek in his dugout. He had taken off his shoes and placed them in the bottom of his craft, and was making his crossing as usual when through some mishap the canoe turned over, and his shoes were lost. Another pair could not be procured and he was obliged to go barefoot until his return to the East. His feet became sore and filled with thorns, and though he extracted what he could, upon reaching home his wife took out 14 more. In the fall Mr. Cranmer returned and harvested his corn and in the following spring moved in his family. He built a log house, pioneer style, with a puncheon floor and a cob roof, on the second bank of the creek and about 30 rods from it. His clearing laid between his house and the creek. "Here alone in the wilds lived the Mr. Cranmer and his family, with only the Plandors for their neighbors." At the mouth of the creek were the Meanes, Foxes, and Bowmans, who made up the entire circle of acquaintances in the wilderness. The country was a wild and dreary prospect, inhabited by panther and bear. Gray wolf were without number and broke the midnight stillness by music that was horrifying to the ears. Deer and elk were plentiful, and the creeks swarmed with trout and other fishes. Mills had not yet been established in the country and there were too few settlers and too little grain to go with boats to Wilkes-Barre , the nearest milling point. Accordingly, the Indians invention, the mortar and pestle, was resorted to. The rule mill, if indeed we might call it such, consisted of a dressing stone to be used in the hand of the pounder, and the end of a stump or a piece of log hollowed by burning, to contain the grain. It was unsafe to venture far into the wilderness without a gun, and the sheep, hogs, and calves had to be confined in log pens at night to be kept from destruction by panthers, bears and wolves. And though Mr. Cranmer's surroundings were most gloomy and his hardships and inconveniences many, he was equal to the test of pioneer times. After making the wilds of Monroe his home, he gave his time diligently in clearing up the farm which he occupied until the time of his death. The same lying partly in and partly out of the borough of Monroe, and yet held now (1887) by his descendants. Mr. Cranmer was a devoted and consistent member of the Presbyterian Church for many years. Long before the Church was established at Monroeton, he was a member at Wysox, and would cross the river on horseback. He hated contention and was a natural pacificator of man, doing all in his power to satisfy the differences of his neighbors. He was endowed with a big heart and would never say "no" to his friends when appealed for aid. He was a man of great industry and was always up before the sun. He never gained the displeasure of his neighbors in word or deed, but on the contrary "all were his friends".
