This web page has been up for almost three years now. I started it to chronicle the conversion of a car from gas to electric power. The car's not done yet: both the car and the web page need an overhaul. I've made some minor changes now, and will make some major changes soon. 5/21/01
Welcome to my web page. My goal is to provide information and links to topics I find of interest. They can range from being very serious and personal, such as my section on Christianity, or it can be a hobby or interest, such as my sections on electric vehicles, Saturns, and AMC's.
Thanks to my Internet service provider (Voicenet) , I have 10 Megabytes of space to speak my peace.

This is Socrates the cat. Sadly, he is no longer my pet. He didn't die, but my landlord didn't like him, and I was having trouble taking care of him, so I gave him away. Who is Tim? I started out as an electrical then software engineer. When my life as an engineer too closely resembled a "Dilbert" cartoon, I switched into teaching. Teaching seems to be a great fit: spending your day with people is much more interesting than spending a day writing code on a computer. Christianity is my core. C. S. Lewis once said something like, "I believe in Christianity for the same reason I believe the sun has risen in the morning. Not just because I see it, but I see by it. (my italics).
I'm interested in solar power because it's a nonpolluting, renewable energy source. My faith teaches me we are to look after the earth. Electric cars can be powered from solar, hydroelectric, and other nonpollution sources. Even if it draws energy from a polluting source there can be a gain in air quality if the electric cars are used in urban areas.
Saturns and AMC's have the weakest links to my faith. My Dad use to work at an AMC dealership and we had AMC's till I was a teenager. My first car was a 1969 Rambler. As far as Saturn goes, I've had my Saturn since 1991 and it now has over 200,000 miles on it.
Stocks and Investments are topics that everyone should at least understand the basics of. I was a big fan of covered calls and I even got a mild case of the Internet bug before the whole thing collapsed. I have some technology holdings, but the stocks that have done well lately (writing as of 5/25/01) have been my bank stocks.
