The ojo de Dios applet you see here (if you have a Java-enabled browser) is a little doodle —pure eye candy— that I hacked out back in 1996 while teaching myself the Java programming language. (Changes in the language now will probably cause some harmless error messages in your browser when you leave this page, but nostalgia prevents me recompiling the applet.) 
To me, Java remains the most exciting technology to emerge
in my profession in a very long time
