The Northern Border
48:1-8

• Both Hamath and Damascus are districts as well as cities; the chief city of each district has the same name as its district.
• The northeast corner of Israel's border begins at Kiryatein (i.e., Hazar-Enan) on the northern border of Damascus. This location is sixty (60) miles east-northeast of the city of Damascus, Sysria. The boundary then is measured westward toward Hethlon. The border extends westward to the border of Hamath, throught the pass to Hethlon at the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
• The northernmost section of the land is allotted to the tribe of Dan.
• Going southward, the next portion is given to Asher; the third portion is Naphtali's; the fourth belongs to Mannasseh; the fifth lot is Ephraim's; the next lot is Reuben's; and beside Reuben's lot is the portion of Judah.
• These seven portions of the land are located to the north of the holy oblation.

Here - in the north - is the source of trouble for another conflict with the surrounding nations, and is the area, probably, which draws all the Islamic nations into the quarrel against Israel. Compare this promised boundary with Israel's presently-held northern border. Count the countries, the political parties and the religious interests which will all be touched or involved by any further expansion of the present northern border of Israel. Consider even the current struggles with Lebanon and Syria which are going on in and about this territory. What will the solution to the troubles finally be? ...A war in the Jezreel Valley, round about the Megiddo area?

There is also some territory promised to Israel which is not secured yet, to the east of the Jordan. What of this area? How can it be obtained without offending another nation?
