Topography shown is present day Jerusalem. A measure of one thousand (long) cubits is about 500 yards in distance, the equivalent to about 1,500 feet. (One mile is equal to 5,280 feet). New Jerusalem, like the dew of Hermon, comes down upon the mountain of Zion, for a blessing of life during the millennial age.

Location of the River

A "plantation" of many trees is on each side of the water. The Kidron apparently is no longer a valley; the land is to be "lifted up and set down as a plain" for considerable distances surrounding Jerusalem in the "day of the LORD," according to Zechariah's prophecy, 14:7-11.

The earthquakes of "the day" help to decimate the hostiles which then surround Jerusalem on all sides at "the end of the days."
