Steps lead up to each of the six gates of the sanctuary. After the glory of the Lord has entered into the house, the outer east gatehouse entrance is closed, and remains closed thereafter.

a -- The court surrounding each outer gate house.
b -- The main court between the gates; the court of the congregation.
c -- Chambers on the pavement; thirty in all.
d -- The corner courts, where the people's sacrifices are boiled.
e -- The open space of fifty cubits in width; the common, a greensward.
f -- The temple, with its side-chambers building.
g -- The wall - a bulwark; 6 by 6 by 500 cubits long on each side of the sanctaury.
h -- Chambers for the priests behind the gatehouse.
i -- The court of the altar, within the inner court of the sanctuary.
j -- The "way" around the outer gatehouses.
k -- The building to the west.
l -- The path "way" behind the building; a terrace.
m -- The "twenty," the narrow court which surrounds the temple building.
n -- The course of the water, flowing from the altar's base, toward the east.
o -- The "way" of the inner gatehouses.
