Chambers beside the Temple Square
42:1-14
- There is a chamber (lishkah) opposite the "separate place."
- The chamber faces the length of the area assigned for it, an area of
100 by 50 cubits wide.
- The chamber lies parallel to the "twenty" cubit area which
is within the inner court.
- There is an entrance under the chambers, from the Inner Court
outside, at the east end of the way.
- The entrances are in the front part of the elevated area of the inner
court. The word chambers, (plural), indicates that more than one
chamber is visible to the prophet.
- These chambers are evidently three stories in height overall. Inside
the inner court of the sanctuary they are designed with "galleries."
- The pathway in front of each chamber is just as long (100 cubits) and
as wide (not specified) on both sides of the temple square's court of "twenty"
cubits width.
- An opening for each chamber, at the head of the pathway, is situated
in the partitioning low wall to the east. This low wall abuts
the western portion of the inner court at the temple's porch steps,
and separates the third level of the sanctuary from the second
level, and from the altar's court. See Diagram I.
