A -- Porch of the temple, 11 by 20 cubits long

B -- Pillars, 5 cubits square. In the temple of Solomon's construction, these pillars were named Jachin and Boaz. [Some think that these pillars were used as gnomons for indicating time by the shadows they cast].

D -- The porch steps, (at the bottom) face the east.

E -- Row of Posts, beside the pillars. Compare with Diagram L.
