Employment History
Teaching experience:
- Taught Java programming as adjunct professor at Philadelphia University of the Sciences,
spring semester 2001 and spring semester 2002.
- Taught C++ (1 module, 4 times) and C/Unix (2 modules, once) at Computer Learning
Center, (Plymouth Meeting, PA), April to November 1997 and June 1998 (2 months full time, 7
months part time). Left to devote more time to dissertation research.
- Individual tutoring in New Testament Greek for Westminster Seminary students.
Self-employment:
- Wrote Windows-based file conversion utilities in C++ for Westminster Seminary Campus
Bookstore, 1993-2000.
- Participated in a group project to write a Hebrew and Greek typing add-on in C for Windows
word processors (1993-1995).
- Other self-employment includes appliance repair (1979-1983) and typing student term
papers (1974 intermittently to present).
Not-for-pay work:
- Created (1997) and maintain a mailing list management program (similar to listserv or
majordomo) for several personally-hosted e-mail discussion groups. Topics include Quaker
history and the reprinting of out-of-print Quaker texts or converting them to electronic
format.
- Created (2000) and maintain Quaker Heritage Press website. My work for this site includes HTML versions of
historic Quaker texts, and a CGI-based file management utility (not publicly accessible) which
enables a colleague to maintain a sub-site without having the main site's FTP password.
