America Online Refund Information
This site is in no way affiliated with America Online. The contents are the sole responsibility of the author. So when AOL is looking for someone to sue, you know who I am.
As a result of the lack of service provided by America Online, and the recurring problems experienced by its customers when attempting to log on, a series of class action lawsuit and investigations by numerous state attorneys general were launched against America Online.
As a result of these legal actions, some interim settlements were reached, and a FINAL SETTLEMENT which grants refunds and/or credits to AOL customers.
However, the language of the final settlement is very complicated. As an attorney, long time online user rights advocate, and a long-time AOL member, I have tried to ease the refund process on behalf of AOL customers.
I created an online form which you can use to obtain these refunds. Without these forms, you would be required to read and interpret this complicated multi-page legal settlement, and write your own refund request to AOL, including very specific language. If you do not include this language, AOL may well deny your claim for a refund and/or credit.
The forms on this Web page take care of all of this for you.
