DSL is a "best-effort" service. Voicenet will consider a downstream speed of between 144kps and 608kps a successful, "best effort" install. Based upon the individual's phone line, distance from local telephone company equipment and the CLEC's network, the ability to burst at speeds up to 768kps, 1.5Mbps or 7.1Mbps is available with SpeedLine DSL, regardless of speed at install.
