IOLTA: Since all lawyers must handle escrow funds, state mandated IOLTAs were created to collect, invest and protect the money in all of those many escrow accounts. These organizations are created to collect the interest on these lawyer escrow accounts. Due to the collection of this interest, many legal programs, such as the School Trials and Judicial Practice Sessions were born. These programs instruct students about our legal system and help them to use the system effectively, and prevent them from becoming overwhelmed when they are involved in litigation.
Voicenet's IOLTA program combines database design with flexible features to enable IOLTAs to manage their lawyer database, monitor collections, identify missing funds, report on deposits, earnings and expenditures, and do it as an in house application or on a Voicenet hosted, shared server, depending on the size of the IOLTA.
